1. The reason why the compression spring is galvanized
(1) Generally, the galvanized layer is passivated after plating. Passivation can improve the protection function of the coating and add a beautiful appearance.
(2) The thickness of zinc and cadmium plating determines the unevenness of protection ability. The thickness should generally be selected according to the working environment during use. The thickness of the galvanized layer is recommended to be selected within the range of 6-24/μm; the thickness of the cadmium-plated layer is recommended to be selected within the range of 6-12/μm.
2. The effect of compression spring galvanizing
(3) The zinc and cadmium plating of the compression spring is carried out in a cyanide electrolyte. During the electroplating process, in addition to the zinc or cadmium plating, a part of the recovered hydrogen enters the crystal lattice of the plating layer and the base metal. to form internal stress, which makes the coating on the compression spring and the compression spring brittle, also called hydrogen embrittlement.
(4) Because of the high strength of the compression spring material and the large deformation of the compression spring during forming, it is very sensitive to hydrogen embrittlement. If the hydrogen is not removed in time, the fracture of the compression spring will often occur. In order to eliminate the electroplating process To improve the physical and chemical functions of the compression spring, extend the service life of the compression spring, and improve the corrosion resistance of the coating, post-plating treatment, that is, hydrogen removal treatment, is required.
